Soil - Garden Formula Potting Soil

During my initial gardening, I use Garden Formula Potting Soil. It was 7L, can be bought from Sheng Siong supermarket at $3.80 as of 29 Aug 2021.

 

When you open the packaging, the soil looks like the following

In general, the soil served its purpose. However, I personally feel that the drainage of this soil is not good. Overtime after multiple watering, it will get clog up and require constant loosening of soil.

Nowadays, I will mix this soil with other soil which has perlite (see below) for better drainage and aeration.

Pro

• Cheap and easily purchasble
• Normal gardening soil mixed with nutrient
• Good to mix with other soil or compost

Con

• Poor drainage over time
• No compost and perlite
