Lemongrass In Planter - Water Requirement by experience
I think, the general consensus from Google search is that Lemongrass in containers needs to water more frequently.
Below is a first attempt from my after potting my lemongrass from stalk. The root was healthy when I put it into the planter.
What actually worked for me is water it only when the soil dried out more. Not just the top level. I actually allow the underneath soil to dry up a little before watering it.
However, it does not worked out for me. Too frequent watering actually killed my lemongrass.
If you look at the following picture, the lemongrass actually dried out. The reason is - the root rotted.
If you take a look at the following, my longer lemongrass had died and I tried to revive the smaller one.
Look - The soil is much drier this time.
and I keep the soil much drier than before by reduce watering frequency. Around 10 days later, you can see that the smaller lemongrass starts to grow more. The soil condition is the same, just watering frequency changed.

I keep my watering method till now (November 2021 as of writing) and you can see that my lemongrass are growing crazily.
My experiment summary
1) Lemongrass love full sunlight.
2) Lemongrass like drier soil. Occasional damp soil is fine, but not constantly damp. Otherwise, it may result root rot.
3) Lemongrass works well with NPK 8-8-8 fertilizer. For the above planter, I can put around 30 pellets every 2 weeks without problem
