Gompherna - Sign of over fertilized Gompherna plant

Gompherna (千日红), honestly, is a pretty easy plant to grow. Don't ask me why, but, yes... it is one of my over fertilized victim.

Let's start's with a pretty healthy look of Gompherna. When it is healthy, it is pretty green and grow with flowers.

So, one day, I decided to give it a few scoops of fertilizer. To be honestly, the most difficult part to spot the problem is that Gompherna is rather tough. Impressively, it took a few days to show sign of issue - unlike Chili which botak the next day.

However, you will eventually to see all (yes, literally all) flower dried out, and I hope it is not too late.

Below is a picture for the start of nightmare. You can see that all purple flowers turns brown.

Below is around the 5th day of over fertilizing. All purple flower turn brown. If you touch it, these brown flowers are crispy. Leaves and the stems dried out as well.

In summary, if you see the following, it is likely that you had over fertilized your Gompherna

1) All flowers turn brown together. It is ok for one or two of the flower to withered but not all at the same time.

2) All flowers becomes crispy

3) Leaves and stems dried out as if they do not have sufficient water

Lucky for me, I had been monitoring all plants due to the over fertilizer Chili plant. As a result, I took action to save it. The next post will explains how I save this poor little plant
