Tomato - Tiny Tim First Attempt (13 May 2021 to 12 Jun 2021). What go wrong?

In my teens, I had tried growing tomato from Horti seeds. So, for my first attempt to grow Tomato, I choose Horti Tiny Tim. Below is the package of Horti Tiny Tim seed.

One thing to take note is that Tomato Tiny Tim from Horti is determinate tomatoes. What does that means? That means - fruits will grow once, ripen and no more.

And the seeds look like the following

Next, I put half of the seed amount into the pot and fully water the soil. For this attempt, I used Garden Formula Potting Soil

The starting was rather encouraging. I could see spout after 2-3 days.

Around 10 days, many spouts grew up. In additional, I water them every day.

Around 15 days, I made my first mistake. There are many spouts and I decided to transplant them. From the following

to these 2 pots. But from here onward, it was all downhill.

Around 20 days, the spouts started to bend downward.

Around 23 days, the black round pot also started to bend downward. And, many of the spouts at the brown pot died off.

Around 30 days, almost all of them died.

Why? What had I done wrong?

If I had to summarized my experience, below is what I had done wrong during this first attempt

  • Too many seeds at 1 pot - This resulting in overcrowding of spouts.
  • Transplant too early - I should not have transplant them at such an young age. They are very fragile at this point.
  • Over watering - As you can see, my soil was constantly wet for the entire month. It should be more dry out, otherwise, it will drown the spouts.
